"Better cities, better life", Shanghai 2010 Expo is an excellent opportunity for us to visit China, to visit those Chinese cities. Among those, there is a city in particular deserves our attention, that is Suzhou.
Suzhou, located in the heart of Yangtze River Delta, is a 2500-year-old cultural city. Because of their gentle region personality, a strong geographical and cultural aroma, rich and elegant style of life, Suzhou has been hailed as "Earthly Paradise".
Suzhou is world-famous with its unique Classical Gardens. There are more than sixty Classical Gardens in Suzhou, among which Zhuozheng Garden and Liu Garden are the two of "China's Four Famous Gardens". Therefore, Suzhou has the compliment - "Suzhou Gardens under heaven".
Suzhou is a city surrounded by water, there are 323 large and small lakes. Suzhou ows two-thirds of the water area of China's third largest freshwater lake - Tai Lake.
The ancient city of Suzhou was built according to the water. Small bridges, flowing water, people with homes, the life scenes of "Jiangnan" can be seen everywhere. Suzhou is a "Watertown" with a longer history than Venice, Italy.
